Its me or the fish! MTS
Many of us suffer from Multiple Tank Syndrome, but does it cause issues in relationships and how can we tell its becoming a problem?

My Ex doesnt care about my obsession. My last girlfriend couldnt figure it out, and didnt want me to have the hobby. Wanted me to get into horses with her though. So, accept her hobby and bag mine. I bagged her instead.

I got my gf into it by giving her a 5.5 with a few guppies... Now she has a 10 and is trying to breed tiger barbs.... Gonna try to get her into keeping a 30 and breeding electric blue rams.... And at the same time I still can't talk her into bringing the electric blue hap into the bedroom so I can watch his agression level lol..... I guess I will just have to be slow and sneaky

Re: Its me or the fish! MTS
As long as there's no tanks upstairs she doesn't know what goes on with my fish hobby down stairs.
My wife has tried to support my hobby, but like many fish hobbyist, we trade fish too often, at least I did/do.

My wife is a "backseat" fishkeeper. She tells me how to "drive" the tank.
My wife acts as if she does not care but always has her 2 cents to put into things even when she really has nothing to do with my hobby. We have had arguments because she thought I was going overboard with the fact I keep multiple tanks. My upstairs tanks are small ( a 29g and 2.5g) and I do not have much time devoted to them as my 210g. They are easy in comparison but shes just afraid I will go nuts and have BIG tanks in every room.

Re: Its me or the fish! MTS
My wife tolerates my tanks, though she does put limits on them. She also possesses a weapon of mass destruction (shock and awe?): crying. It rarely gets to that point, but if I start talking about another tank and she thinks I'm already spending way too much time on the tanks I have, well, the WMD comes out. After that I've already lost and the new tank idea goes back where it belongs.
She likes my 2 display tanks and tolerates the rest. She even pretends to be interested when I show her exciting critter X or a new bunch of snail eggs or whatever.

Mine has another weapon: yelling.

I had one (past tense) that used that weapon. She has someone else to yell at now, thank goodness.

Re: Its me or the fish! MTS
Hahahaha... I'm trying REALLY hard not to get MTS... I'm already up to 2, 55gal tanks. One is freshwater fish, and the other is for land hermit crabs. I have a 10 gal spare, and I dare not convert that into something that will house a pet. Hehe
