Build information:
The top lid is made from treated 2x3x12 (cut into box frames) then we added a 1x4x8 to the front to keep it from moving. Sanded and painted black.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Then we added laminated shelving (42 inches long) for the tops. Behind that is another treated (1x8x12) that is screwed into the box frame to add support. Sanded and painted black. Placed a piano hinges to between 2 boards.

I wired in the CLF lighting one for each tank. The frame hides all the wiring for the heater and Air lines.
Hope that address any questions.

Re: My fish room project
5 dollar each.... I would recommend that you use a water proofing on the back of the boards.

Very nice. I guess with that many tanks you are a small aquarium shop. =)
How are your tiger shrimps doing?

Another Update
Well Lori and I decided that we need more room for babies in our fish room. We purchased 4 additional 10 gallon thanks. 3 for her Cory cats groups (I'm sure she will chime in with the kinds). Also we felt that it was to hot in the fish room for your shrimp tanks and water to give them a cooler accommodations. So the move then to the kitchen counter. and looks like:

Shrimp tanks
We mounted the light fixture on the back of our 120 gallon hood, its made out of PVC, painted it black. We ran the shop light with LED fixtures (from Costco, with local rebate cost us $9.00 each)I wanted it to look good and functional so we decided to run the lights up and over and zip-ties them and the desired height over the tanks. We like it and I need to add a center brace so it does not bow in the middle.
The green in the back of the tanks is for growing a wall of moss. Lori loved that idea and have seen it starting to come through. Cant wait to see it in a few months.
Question, comments and concerns please let me know.
Thanks for letting me share..

Re: My fish room project
Wow. Wish my lady let me have a fish room but with all 3 walls as big tanks. One wall tank would be african cichlids, 2nd one would be dirted planted with discus, and 3rd a reef tank. I would sit in middle of the room and stare at each tank all day. Some day when I win the lotto.

Re: My fish room project
I hear you there... Im lucky my wife and I spend a lot of time in this room. She is as crazy about it as I am...
Re: My fish room project
I am very jealous of your angels! I have scored some good ones over the last few years. Unsure of what all the names are for them. I have a small scale breeding going on. But vacations and heater malfunctions wiped out quite a bit of my stock of fry/juveniles. I love the powder blue really bright angel at the beginning of the video! And COMPLETELY jealous of your 120 planted!

Thank you ShortyKiloGyrl I have pulled 3 pairs out of that tank so far. All are blues. I should have some dime fry or even a pair I could sell soon... if you are interested?
