I know allot of peoples problem when first trying to breed fish is figuring out the sex.... well, I will tell you that not all large hump (kok) and long dorsals mean that this is a male... I have had several females with large humps, and several males with no humps at all.... Only way to truly sex your fish is by checking the vent. (or if she lays eggs)... I have attached a great webpage for people to look at.... This is what I used to sex my fish when first starting out for venting cichlids.
