Rosy barb eggs hatch !!! :)

I'm so happy they all didn't get eaten but man these fry are small idk how im going to put them in my fry container or catch them... hmm any suggestions? happy happy happy my first egg spawn ever

agreed, small fry or small eggs can be sucked up nicely with a turkey baster. Though a thick enough air tube may be more comfortable since you can see all the fry. IE sometimes turkey basters suck up higher in the baster than you want, and you have to refill, swish upside down and hope you got all the fry with your swish. Hope that males sense. Some big breeders have just a few inches of clearance on their top tanks, and use airline to suck them up and into a bucket. Even with larger fry like cichlids this can be done. I imagine regular 1/4 inch tubing would be fine for your tiny fry.

lol, well what you want to do is start with a clean unused piece of tubing to be safe (from fish cooties), the tank should be at least a couple feet higher than the bucket, and the tube should be long enough to reach the bottom of the tank, and make a nice twirl into the bucket, ie not dangling so that water pressure may make it spray fish onto the floor. THEN... simply put one end of the tube in the tank, SECURELY, and get your head down near bucket level and suck while watching towards the tank, ideally you have 2 or more feet, (3 or 4 feet from tank top to bucket is ideal (like 6 feet of hose) so as soon as the water makes it half way down or so, you can stop sucking and gravity does the rest. From their simply move the tube around in the tank to suck up the fry. Be sure the bucket doesn't overflow, and be sure your heater and stuff is off so if the water in the tank drops too low it won't cause an issue. You can do this same thing from a container in the sink with bleach water into a bucket below to sterilize the tube for reuse. I like to run fresh water through it after the bleach water just to be nice to the fish, but the short trip through the hose is not likely to contain enough bleach to harm them or the bucket water. It's kinda fun watching them go down this water slide btw. Anyone remember Turbo Tubes in Kenmore?

no lol hahaha but now my older fish are going nuts at the plactic bottom the babies are in lol they wanna eat even though i just fed them i guess babies are tastier

I am trying to not make a tasteless joke about eating babies. But if I were going to be tasteless, I would say something like "there is no sweeter flesh than baby flesh", and then people would booo me.

the babies are doing fine well some anyways some of my prego platies decided to havbe lunch when i put them in my baby tank lol
