Fish ID help

I bought this when it was 1.5" long as a pink convict. It is now almost 2.5" and is developing what looks like a hump on its head. I was wondering if it was a hybrid or if this was a natural thing for convicts?

Looks like male con to me also.. Some grow a kok and some don't..
