need a little help! Empty need a little help!

WHEN THE WATER IN A AFRICAN CICHLID TANK ,STARTS evaporating a little bit,,can i just add more water,,or should i add stress coat to the water ,before adding it? all the advice is deeply appreciated!im just starting out, and im trying to do everything the right way.. thanks very much.

dechlorinate or treat the water the same way you did when you filled/did water change (that is, use Prime, etc, or whatever you use)

You dont need to add some stuff though.. Such as salts because they don't evaporate out.

So far as I've been able to tell, some (most) of the additives are consumed and must be replaced, but there may be a few (mostly types of salt) that are not. But to avoid any type of bounce I've found that I need to keep using my additives in proportion to the amount of water I'm adding.

For top-offs (<5% of tank volume) I wouldn't expect this to be a problem though. Just add your water treatment (dechlor) and you should be fine.

I have found that salts will find their way onto the underneath of my lights and the doors to the hood. Also around the outside edges of my HOBs.

sounds good!!dechlor...stress coat......easy enough! tank is looking great ,,fish seem very healthy,...thanks for the advice!!
