Hong Kong

Parker and I returned from 3 weeks in Asia, the last few days of which were spent in Hong Kong. We managed to fit in a weekend where we enjoyed lots of the typical tourist stuff (Laser Light Show, Ngong Ping cable car ride, the Peak, etc) but thanks to protocl we also managed to find the street where all of the aquatics stores are located and browse around. Despite the packed conditions, it's amazing! I particularly found their saltwater, shrimp and koi setups and pricing to be beyond belief. I saw quite a few cichlids but they obviously aren't as popular there as here. Equipment was, in many cases, priced to sell but we decided to hold onto our checkbooks for now. However, next time around I might find someone with an importer's license to send some of those fish and invertebrates back.

We even found that "special restaurant" you blogged about and enjoyed some of the best Pizza Hut we'd had in quite a while. ROFL

After all the times I've been in HK, never visited ngong ping. Lucky you!!
