Does Dad get to Parent?
POLL, Do I pull GBR dad?
Ok, here is my problem.... this is the first batch out of probably 7 batches of eggs that finally hatched.... I have a bunch of babies!!! very exciting cause I worked so hard gettin this guys to produce for me..... anyway, now that they are free swimming, the mom started eatin any that wondered too far from the clay pot.... and wasnt spittin them out, but chewin them up!! so i immediatly pulled her and now leavin it to dad.
Well I went down to shoot a video for you guys to enjoy, and I got the dad eating babies too!!! so, Here is the poll questions.. Do I pull the dad, or do I leave him??? You think they really need there dad in with them??? If you could tell me how you voted, and why you voted that way I would really appreciate it! Most likely I will do what you guys recommend because I am lettin you guys help raise these fish with me!
I voted to pull dad.... I want to save as many as these guys as I can..... I am pretty well read and think I should have no problem raising fry by myself.... it was a hard vote, cause I know having a parent around keeps the young to be good parents when they have there own babies.
Hope this video doesnt presuade you to vote to keep the dad, its all emotional!!! lol enjoy the video.

I also voted for you to take him out. You can successfully raise the fry yourself.

I think you did the right thing. That's too bad that the parents started eating them. I wonder what triggers them into doing that?

Anyways, why not just move them both and hope that they might spawn again?
