Just showing off my little shrimp home that I set up on my work desk. 2.5 gallon with a 10 gal rated HOB ( only because the built in lid filter died ), some low power Christmas led lights in the hood that gives it a nice shimmer. I actually leave them on all the time, but turn on a bright LED on the side during the day. Not heated but stays around 70 deg in my office. Has a bit of a snail infestation, but I don't mind as long as they don't eat the plants. Have one piece of wood in there and the cool looking rock is Labradorite. Has several Cherry Shrimp that I got from binbin9 that must be happy as they are breeding. Any comments welcome.

Awesome! I'm getting ready to set up a 5 gallon planted for work. I love the idea of the rock! I was just going to a small piece of driftwood just plants. Thanks for the idea. What plants do you have in there? And how many shrimp?

Very nicely done! Are you using the sponge filter as an intake? That's a cool idea for a shrimp tank!

Have to use a sponge cover over the intake so it does not suck up the baby shrimp... and it keeps the snails out of my filter.

Probably around 20 in there, but only 4-5 bright red adults.

The dark plant in the center is Anubius, the thin one all over is Hornwort ( growing like crazy ) I don't remember the other one... the small ones on the side are plastic... looked better before the plants grew a bit and I just never took them out.

I don't have any of the Excel brand, but use one called Leaf Zone from API... seems to do the trick adding a little every now and then.

Looks great...I want a shrimp tank with some of pbmax's gorgeous shrimps in it. Trying to figure out where to fit just one more tank...I'm down to the bathroom counter...yikes!

Go vertical! You know you want to! You could easily setup two tanks one on top of the other and be set! Smile

Laughing Tom. I have a list of tank stands I'm waiting for John to build for me...most of em stacks so I can do just that. I told him I'm going to take up woodworking and he's going to have to show me how to do it so I can get them built in a more timely manner.

Now back to Paintguy's great shrimp tank!

I am pretty sure that's what I have and hoping it works when I get my 5 gallon set up.
