I had my first meeting with Jason yesterday to discuss the new big tank going in at the shop. Snapped some pictures of other tanks being built while I was there etc.

Looking good!! Is that going to fit on your old stand or are you buying/building a new stand too?

Looks like a fun place! Did you see any interesting custom builds (L shape, terrarium... whatever)?

Where is this place located Cory ?? Didn't know we had any local custom tank shops..

nice looking start on that tank...and ditto the stand question. Hank's old stand was beautiful. Hope you get to keep it.

The tank is much bigger than the old stand. So a new 2 inch square steel stand will be build and powder coated with adjustable legs.

His shop is located in Seattle.

Ohhhh, nice! If u don't mind me asking, how big will Hanks new home be? I know you are going to shoot for 3-400 gallon range so I am curious about how much a custom built tank would cost (roughly) . Just the tank only, I am planing an in home build.

Tank will be 72x48x24. Cost is $2970 just for the tank. The price goes up pretty quick if you make it taller since it has to be thicker acrylic.

CFI is awesome!

Insurance cover anything?

Along with Clear Fabricators Inc for acrylic tanks there is Oceans by Design in Tukwila that does custom glass aquariums. GSAS members get a discount at Oceans by Design.

Thanks for the info.. I just wanna price out a new in-wall tank.. Wanna find a 36-48" wide tank for when i get back into rays again..

Not sure what time yet. But Monday I may need some strong people to help move in the stand. We have to get it off the truck and into the shop. Looks like I'll need 3 others besides myself. Once I know a time I'll post it up for anyoen who wants to help move it.

So glad to see Hank is going to have a wonderful new home. He is such a special fish Cory and so much a part of the experience in visiting your store (at least for us he is...we love him). Love the pic of you laying in the tank...is that how the term sleeping with the fishes came about? LOL.

OK...now, waiting to see Hank having a great time in there.

Yes it gravity returns. It's pumped up there by a fx6 canister filter.

Do people know that there is a camera watching Hank? I saw some lady using the tank reflection to pick out her teeth    then she started tapping on the glass

awesome tank! im sure hank is going to love it ( i cant wait to see all the additions that are gonna be in there as well ) Nice to see hank still smiling, and his new shirts look great! kinda surprised we didnt see poke pop in for a goofy selfie. I wish you the Best with hank and his tank
