Finally got this tank fully converted from having plastic plants and decor, to an all natural tank. Patience definitely pays off, you can't rush nature Smile

Happy viewing!

Nope, same genus but different species. It's just a particularly reddish dwarf cajun. I could't convince CPOs to survive in my tanks...

Thank you! Patience was not one of my strong points either. I kept changing the layout about once a month, because I got bored with how it looked, or because I had to clip some plants and the like. But now I'm happy with it!

lol, now that's a big difference. I'd like to think my 10 gal will look as good as your 1st picture.......if the green water every goes away.... but hey, split pea soap anyone, ha!!

I like your tank better now. But notice the planted tank doesn't stay that nicely manicured. It takes maintenance. Getting all the plants to be healthy is just one element in aquascaping. It's also leaning how to trim individual plants, manicure them to stay proportionate so the plants don't get out of hand and take over a tank or over take other plants.

jrmakawoody: I can come over sometime on a day I'm not working to help you get that 20 gallon rescaped! lol

fishNAbowl: Thanks! Yeah, planted tanks do take lots of maintenance, as far as clipping plants are concerned. But I'd rather clip plants, than deal with frequent water changes in a non-planted tank, that's for sure. lol! Smile The pay back is infinitely better with a planted tank, than a tank with fake plants.

Although, there are some exceptions, like, when a tank is full of cichlids, then I'd stick with planted tanks all the way. Hahaha!

Sounds like a plan! I think I'm going to keep it shrimp only. It's just a matter of beautifying it better lol.

Looks really good, Angelo.  I like that piece of cholla! I have a small one in my pleco/shrimp tank that's been in there for years.  It hasn't shown any sign of rotting, but the holes are becoming bigger and bigger.  The plecos really like to munch on it.  Don't think it's going to be around too much longer.  I've got a few other pieces and one huge branching piece that I need to get cleaned up.
