Very cool. Maybe another future project, along with a cool Frontosa tank.

I could think of something better than 6 fish in a empty 300 gallon tank but like sandnuka said Good job!

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
There will be more stock in the 300 once my wallet allows.. Lol. Right now the rays are my main priority. I've tried several other kinds of fish but they just don't do it for me, I just keep going back to rays. Plus they're the only fish my wife like.. She hated all the other fish i've kept..
It sucks there's Not many ray people in Washington anymore..

Why buy rays when I can spend hundreds of dollars on rare livebearers. Yes, I realize rays are livebearers

Like the henlies but love the Leo. when the stinger drops, be sure to fish the tube out of the tank.
I will somewhat emulate the fishes you have in my Ray tank.

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
Thanks.. I'm not going to change much. Just add a couple mid to upper water swimmers. The rays are so peaceful to watch I don't want to mess that up with aggressive fish.. This time I'll just stick to the rays I have and not load my tank like before. My food bill almost ran me to the poor house with feeding 1-2 pounds of fish fillets, and shrimp a day, and the 2x 60% water changes a week.

That's a pretty bad a$$ tank, love that aro too..
I'm looking for gars, Dats, or maybe a Leichardti.. No flagtail for me, they like to suck the slime coat off the rays..

I love those rays and yeah I do agree on adding a aro. It would set off the tank nicely. Have you seen aquarist tank with rays and aro? Its beautiful

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
some odd reason I keep forgetting that the Flagtails do that! I had a nice 8-9" Balal shark and he did a greatjob breaking the Rays' left over. but I killed it by doing a massive WC, I have been informed they are very sensitive to temperature changes, otherwise Bala sharks were great.
Bet you are missing your black aro by now,
Leicharti is hard to find. If ever I come across one, I'll let you know. There's 2 mfk'er that have them, and if I am correct one is looking to get rid of his (hearse), so if you inquire on mfk, you might get a response.

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
My understanding is flagtails suck slime because of not having enough vegetable matter in their diet. And once they start its something that many times cant break them of. Hope mine does not resort to that.

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
I've had 3 or 4 over the years and even if they were fine for years all of them started to mess with my rays after time.. I had one for 2 years and I thought he was good to go then he started to mess with my prized marble female.. So needless to say it had to go. After that I gave up on trying flag tails with my rays.

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
Firstly, The tank you had before was cool and this one; is super cool! Love the exotic rays. Makes me want to add another big tank and go "Rays"!,
But if your still on the prowl for gars and make a trip down soon. Think of a reason (Wet Spot or sumtin, lol). I can possibly get you a great deal for gars around 17-18".

Re: New update of the 300 and new pets
Thanks.. I'm real happy with my tank now, and plus it helps my wife love my rays.. She's really hated any fish I've ever owned besides my rays..
Right now all my fish purchases have to be local and cheap. I need to get my tranny and clutch replaced ASAP on my little Honda commuter car. Once that's done then I'm free for some fish road trips.. Lol
Thanks for the heads up on the gars, I do want to buy some for sure..

Very cool.. I love pearls, that is one ray i've wanted but never owned.. A true flower ray also. That's the and thing, rays are super addicting. I started with one and ended up with 7 before I knew it.. Lol
As far as just having the rays it will be close to that, you'll be able to keep your aro but the rays will start picking off fish slowly if you don't keep them fat and happy.. And sometimes nature just kicks in and they do it just for fun.. Lol I had a big marble female that had it in for one of my large red Severums, there was no way she could eat it but she sure tried daily.. Lol
