Damn, I still havent had any of my Ocellatus pair off and I got my 8 from the first RSC back at the end of May. Crying or Very sad
Gratz on the fast response of your fish, didnt think they shipped fish that are already that old, I know it takes 9 to 10 months for the Ocellatus to spawn and mine I figure are at 8 months.

Thanks guys for the comgrats.. SAND, I sure wish I was getting in on the order. But I really have to wait til at least next time. I promised myself I wouldn't look at the list. I'm sure that's really gonna work.
anyway I was watching them today and it seems as though there is 2 spawnings. One pr. have 1 baby and the other has at least 4. I understand it is not unusual for them to have so few when they first start spawning. They are in a10 gal. and very close to each other, with a wall of sand between them. The 2 males spare with each other but really don't fight. But the funniest thing I think is the babies(fry) know exactually how far they are allowed to go. They will go to the top of the wall, and as soon as they can see over the wall, they going shooting back down into their shells in the hole in the sand . At fist I thought it was just a fluke, but they do it everytime. Anyway I'm really enjoying this. Very Happy

WELL, NEW UPDATE!!! The population seems to be growing. I now can see 4 babies with 1 set of parents and 3 with the other set of parents. They seem to be doing very well, swimming up into the tank, but definitely, on their own side of the sand wall I talked about in the last post. They will try to eat anything I throw at them but they seem to like FIRST BITES best , or are able to eat it the easiest. They are pretty happy with FBBS. So are the parents Laughing

Thank you guys, I guess it did work. The sand actually started out as level and smooth. They like to make their own arrangements. haha

It looks like I have at least 5 babies from last 2 batches. Sure sign they are new parents. I took a couple pictures. Still too small for my camera. They seem to be at it again, and I expect to see lots of small frys soon. Get it "small frys" haha Oh, never mind, just a bad joke! whistle
