i think they are a wholesaler so good prices cause when i contacted them they said i needed a business license thats it.. could try to get a discont on a mass group buy.. They carry a little bit of everything.. good amount of malawi cichlids... plants minnows the works.. Very nice looking livebearer selection..!!!!

I'd be wary of a seller that says this about the Demasoni cichlids...:

"This fish is not aggressive for a cichlid, but males can be quarrelsome among themselves. They are active fish, constantly interacting with other fish. It can be kept either in a large single species aquarium or in active community aquaria with fish with similar behavior and requirements."

Everyone that has kept these fish knows that they can be some of the most aggressive little guys out there..Maybe they have high quality fish, but they don't have a very good knowledge of the fish so just keep that in mind. But looking at the live-bearer section, they look good.

there livebearers look A+++.. i dont think they really specialize in chilids.lol.. all vids i seen of demasoni looked more like play behavior to me...

Dave is very well respected - I did a big order from him last year and had great luck.

I'd also consider one of the importers for the possibility of getting some WC stock.

I have also heard amazing things about Dave's fish! I think in the future you could organize a group buy from him.

There no prices on there, or quantity available? And what does he charge for shipping? I wouldnt mind gettin on a group buy if his prices are decent.... but i agree with mikey, kinda scares me when he says he has tropheus duboisi, and tropheus moorii (there is so many torpheus moorii, he didnt even list the variant)... of course the comment on the demonsanai sounds crazy too... but could just be a sales thing? cause those are mean fish!

I've had very mixed reports on Live Fish Direct; some people reporting getting fish that end up being a completely different species, or perhaps hybrids. Others say their transaction has gone smoothly and they're happy with the fish they received. Personally I'd vote for Dave's, or someone like Old World Exotic or Off The Hook if there was enough interest in going for wild caught.

That description of the demasoni is also the same on every mbuna that I clicked on, including the auratus, which is extremely aggressive. The demasoni pictured is not a good specimen with it's irregular barring. Some of the fish aren't labeled with their proper names. I'd be afraid to get any cichlids there.

Dave's has a very good reputation; I've heard a lot of good reviews of his fish. And like Larry, I've heard mixed reviews about Live Fish Direct.

darn... well, we got our sponsor reserve stock cichlids... and he is just freakin awesome! Too bad his mbuna selections sucks, and doesnt have any victorian... There was a cool shop in california that had a bunch of frontosa, umm..... neptune aquatics... ( http://www.neptuneaquatics.com/catalog/8 ) i got some fish there once, it went really well... there fish are not super cheap though, order was sent up greyhound, and was really fast and pretty cheap shippin though!
